Studies show that exercise improves attention, memory, and accuracy. It helps minimize stress and improve our moods. In short, exercise helps us thrive.

At Recreation & Wellness, it’s our mission to enhance and engage the GVSU community by providing inclusive and diverse recreational opportunities that inspire participation, promote health and wellbeing, and encourage student development and success.

With your help, we can continue to provide comprehensive and quality recreational services and programs that further well-being to everyone in the GVSU community, as well as help grow leaders in recreation and beyond.

Past Scholarship Recipients

"This scholarship has been a huge blessing as I enter my forth year at GVSU and my forth year at the rec! As much as this helps me financially, I am just as thankful for the friendships and community I have formed over the years. Your generosity is an example of the giving and hard working spirt of this campus and this school. Thank you!" - Sam Beagle, 2021-2022

Club Sports

Club Sports offer an exciting athletic alternative that bridges the gap between intramural play and varsity sports. There are currently over 50 club sports organizations at GVSU that range from recreational to highly competitive.

These programs are funded primarily by participant dues. Your contribution to a club sport of your choice will make a difference in students' ability to compete at the highest levels by offsetting out-of-pocket costs to participate.

100% of your donation will go directly to the club sport of your choice. If you’re interested in giving to specific club sport program, search for the program of your choice on the Find Funds page.

Giving Tuesday

#GivingTuesday is global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is a way to join the movement and give - each Tuesday and every day - whether it’s some of your time, a donation, or the power of your voice in your local community.

It’s a simple idea: whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.

One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. Support GVSU Recreation & Wellness programs, services, and events, or give back to support scholarships for students. Volunteer for an event, find a fund, or let us know if you're interested in giving in another way.
