Lisa Borton is a Michigan-based theatrical designer who specializes in both costumes and scenic design. Favorite designs include: The Liar, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Lend Me a Tenor. Professional theatre design work includes The Tipping Point Theatre, Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, and the Flint Youth Theatre. She has worked as a professional scenic artist at The Cleveland Play House, as the charge artist at The Great River Shakespeare Festival, and a props painter at the Santa Fe Opera. Lisa holds an MFA from the University of Iowa and a BA from Hope College, and has been a resident designer and Lecturer at the University of Michigan-Flint since 2012. Lisa is an avid runner, old house owner & enthusiast, and spends much of her free time working on jewelry for her business, Lakeside Silver.
