
Accelerate Dance Intensive
August 1-5, 2022
Today’s dancers need technical prowess, superb artistry, and stylistic versatility. Accelerate will give you, an advanced dancer, a chance to hone your skills in a challenging yet rewarding environment as you study ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, and repertory. For advanced dancers, ages 14 & up.
Location
Classes are held on the Grand Valley State University Allendale campus.

Cost
Registration Fee: $275 (includes lunch)
Registration + Housing (includes all meals): $575
Housing
Optional on-campus housing available in GVSU facilities for an additional $300.
Rate is based on double-occupancy of a complete two-bedroom apartment, including two private bedrooms, a bathroom, a living area, and a kitchen. Students will be supervised by a Resident Assistant working exclusively with the Accelerate Dance Intensive. Arrival July 31, evening time TBD. Departure August 5 after final showing.

Daily Schedule
9-10:30 a.m. Movement class
10:30-noon Movement class
Noon-1 p.m. Lunch
1-2 p.m. Special Topics Workshop
2-3:30 p.m. Movement class
3:30-5 p.m. Movement class
Movement classes may include ballet, hip hop, jazz, modern, and repertory.
Attire
For ballet classes:
Leotard/tights or fitted dance shirt/tights and ballet shoes
For hip hop classes:
Clean sneakers or high tops with white or grey soles (no black)
For all other classes:
Close fitting dance attire and socks or bare feet. Pants that cover the knees are strongly recommended for modern.
*Students who withdraw before July 1, 2022 will receive a full tuition refund less a $50 administrative fee. Due to fees being paid to housing, dining, and other GVSU campus offices NO REFUNDS will be available for voluntary withdrawal beginning July 1, 2022. Refunds after this point (except for a $50 administrative fee) will only be considered for injury-related circumstances that prevent the student from participating; a statement from a physician will be required.
