Accelerate Dance Intensive
August 8-12, 2022
Today’s dancers need technical prowess, superb artistry, and stylistic versatility. Accelerate will give you, an advanced dancer, a chance to hone your skills in a challenging yet rewarding environment as you study ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, and improvisation. For advanced dancers, ages 14 & up.

Classes are held on the Grand Valley State University Allendale campus.
Classes are taught by Grand Valley State University faculty and guest artists
Registration Fee: $250 (includes lunch)
Registration + Housing (includes all meals): $545
Optional on-campus housing available in GVSU facilities for an additional $295
Rate is based on double-occupancy of a complete two-bedroom apartment, including two private bedrooms, a bathroom, a living area, and a kitchen. Students will be supervised by a Resident Assistant working exclusively with the Accelerate Dance Intensive. Arrival June 14, evening time TBD. Departure June 19 after final showing.
9-10:30 a.m. Ballet
10:30-noon Modern (M/W/F) / Improvisation T/R
Noon-1 p.m. Lunch
1-2 p.m. Special Topics Workshop
2-3:30 p.m. Repertory (M/T/W/R, final showing F 4-5 p.m.)
3:30-5 p.m. Jazz (M/W, 2-3:30 F) / Hip hop T/R
For ballet classes:
Women: Leotard, tights, and ballet shoes
Men: Tights, fitted dance shirt, and ballet shoes
For hip hop classes:
Close fitting dance attire and CLEAN sneakers or high tops with white or grey soles (no black)
For all other classes:
Close fitting dance attire and socks or barefeet. Pants that cover the knees are strongly recommended for modern.
*Students who withdraw before June 1, 2022 will receive a full tuition refund less a $50 administrative fee. Due to fees being paid to housing, dining, and other GVSU campus offices NO REFUNDS will be available for voluntary withdrawal beginning June 1, 2022. Refunds after this point (except for a $50 administrative fee) will only be considered for injury-related circumstances that prevent the student from participating; a statement from a physician will be required.
