Description
The Holland Museum is seeking a Visitor Services / Tourism & Hospitality Intern to gain hands-on experience in museum hospitality, tourism engagement, and front-of-house operations within a cultural institution setting.
The intern will support daily visitor services operations, assist with admissions and retail workflows, contribute to visitor data collection and analysis, and observe how attendance patterns and visitor engagement inform tourism strategy. The intern will gain exposure to how museums function as active public-facing destinations within a regional tourism network.
As part of the Holland Museum Summer Intern Council, the intern will collaborate with fellow interns to research, design, and install a small exhibition project. This experience is designed to build leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills while providing insight into broader museum operations.
Qualifications
• Current undergraduate or graduate student in Hospitality &
Tourism Management or a related field
• Interest in cultural
tourism, visitor experience, or event operations
• Strong
communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional demeanor and
ability to work effectively with the public
• Organized and
detail-oriented with a collaborative attitude
• Basic computer
proficiency (Microsoft Office and data entry familiarity
preferred)
• Availability to work 20 hours per week on-site,
June–August 2026
