Welcome to the Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) Program at Grand Valley State University (GVSU)! Many colleges and universities offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, but no other institution offers the distinctive opportunities that GVSU does through our six diverse and practical career concentrations and unique adventure tourism management minor. We are excited to offer our students the following, just to name a few:
- State of the art curriculum - engage students with real world applications in classes and in a 1000 hours of internships
- Fifteen full-time, committed and experienced faculty and staff who all have industry experience and engage outside the classroom
- Over 400 majors and minors

Community-Based Learning within the College of Community and Public Service (CCPS)
We call ourselves an engaged College because we take the skills and talents of our faculty and staff and we work on projects in the community. We help to be a voice. The Hospitality and Tourism Management Program is proud to have earned the "Engaged Department" designation by the GVSU Center for Scholarly and Creative Excellence in 2018, and was awarded a $5,000 grant to participate in the Engaged Department Initiative. Over an 18-month period, we have been incorporating curricular scaffolding of community-based learning, developing collaborative approaches to community partnerships, and working toward establishing a culture that supports and rewards community-based work.

HTM Affiliate Professor, John Lipford, is teaching HTM 242 - Cannabis Regulations and Tourism is running for the first time ever during the Fall 2019 semester. He was was recently interviewed by MiBiz for two different articles about this new course.
