Job Summary

Operates and monitors computer systems.

Essential Functions

  • Argos Operational tasks.
  • Automic (formerly UC4) Operational tasks.
  • Avoid unauthorized access into the Data Center and Computer Operations Workstations.
  • Barcodes Operational tasks.
  • Blackboard Operational tasks.
  • Completing Operational tasks forms as needed.
  • Distribute users’ production reports.
  • Emergency Notification tasks.
  • HelpDesk Operational tasks.
  • IDOC Builder Operational tasks.
  • IPMonitor Operational tasks.
  • Lift boxes, push or pull carts.
  • Maintain Operations paper inventory and supplies.
  • Operate and monitor production printers.
  • Optical-Scanner Operational tasks (Faculty Evaluations and Test Scores).
  • Provide shift coverage as needed.
  • Run production shift schedules.
  • Solve Operational task problems or notify appropriate personnel.
  • Verify thoroughness and accuracy of production jobs, prior to, during and after execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions

  • Avoid unauthorized access into the Data Center Suites.
  • Attend an IT Seminar related to a job requirement (i.e. a MS Office product).
  • Enter UltraTime hours.
  • Recognize system and peripheral equipment malfunctions and execute proper corrective procedures.
  • Reference technical manuals and guides as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Data Processing or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • Minimum of three years related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully operate office equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex information obtained from technical and procedural manuals.
  • Willingness to work any shift.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software.

Supervision Received

Receives minimal supervision from a designated supervisor.  Much of the work is self-initiated.  Person is expected to function with considerable independence and apply appropriate policies and procedures within the assigned area of responsibility.

Supervision Exercised

Hire, train, schedule and coordinate the work of student employees and may act as lead worker to PSS staff members within the department/unit/division.
