Job Summary

Coordinate and provide a variety of duties to support the data entry of new and active faculty and staff members in regards to benefits.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with new hire payroll data entry.
  • Process various benefit functions.
  • Generate/compile various data requests and reports.
  • Disseminates information that may require explanation and interpretation of established university and departmental policies and direct individuals to sources of additional information. This includes fielding and answering various questions (e-mail, phone, in-person) in regards to human resources new hire information/payroll and benefits.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating files and record keeping system, paper and electronic systems, web page maintenance.
  • Provide clerical support as needed.
  • Manage the day to day activities of the benefit student staff.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service.
  • Strong data entry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully use various computer software applications (Microsoft Office and payroll/benefit system).
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Typing and spelling competency.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading and math skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Human Resources/Benefits experience.
  • Experience using Human Resources/Benefits information systems (Banner Preferred).
  • Experience using various reporting software (Argos Preferred).
  • Supervisory experience.

Supervision Received

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.

Supervision Exercised

May direct the work of student employees.
