Job Summary

This position supports the administration and continuous improvement of the general education program by organizing and scheduling assessment activities, maintaining accurate assessment data, and facilitating communication with faculty and leadership.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in organizing and scheduling assessments for general education courses, including maintaining calendars, communicating deadlines, and tracking assessment activities according to established procedures.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and execution of data-driven assessment processes using tools such as the Assessment Management Site, Tableau, SAS, and R, following documented workflows to ensure data accuracy.
  • Prepare and distribute general education assessment materials and resources each semester under standard operating guidelines.
  • Enter, update, and manage complex assessment data in multiple systems; perform routine data analysis and prepare visualizations and reports for review by leadership and committees.
  • Update and maintain university-wide general education content across print, web, and internal systems, ensuring content accuracy in accordance with established content standards.
  • Compile and format the general education (GE) Handbook content for publication using approved templates and tools; coordinate production tasks independently without institutional marketing support.
  • Distribute general education faculty resources and guidance materials, responding to questions using established guidance and reference documents.
  • Perform administrative functions to support general education operations, such as maintaining files, tracking workflow status, and preparing routine documentation; identify opportunities to improve processes within procedural limits.
  • Monitor and respond to incoming communications on general education topics, providing information and clarification using documented policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to faculty on GE policies and assessment processes by interpreting established guidelines and escalating issues when they fall outside standard procedures.
  • Assist with the oversight and tracking of the GE budget, including recording expenditures, preparing routine budget documentation, and alerting supervisors to variances for administrative review.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
  • Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Typing and spelling competency with grammar and proofreading skills. 
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully coordinate large projects. 
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully handle multiple demands effectively.

Supervision Received

Receives minimal supervision from a designated supervisor. Much of the work is self-initiated. Person is expected to function with considerable independence and apply appropriate policies and procedures within the assigned area of responsibility.

Hire, train, schedule and coordinate the work of student employees and may act as lead worker to PSS staff members within the department/unit/division.
