Job Summary

Responsible for assisting with the mailroom functions in support of the recruitment activities of the university.

Essential Functions

  • Receives, routes, processes and distributes admissions mail.
  • Data entry (load and maintain) into the student information system.
  • Assembles, processes and mails correspondence in response to student inquiries.
  • Maintains knowledge of postal regulations to insure that mailings meet postal standards.
  • Assist with small and large mailing (60,000+) in support of the Admissions recruitment effort.
  • Assemble, mail or deliver supplier/brochures/publications in response to campus departmental requests.
  • Uses information provided by computerized reporting to monitor and maintain the quality and accuracy of recruitment data.
  • Must be able to lift and transport 60 lbs or less.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Works at commencement.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Typing and spelling competency.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
  • Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college course work.
  • Experience in higher education.

Supervision Received

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.

Supervision Exercised

May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.

Physical Demands
