Job Summary

Coordinates a variety of duties for a department/office/college in which discretion and/or judgment concerning adherence to policies and procedures is required.

Essential Functions

  • Report to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs in Nursing. Provide administrative support to the Associate Dean, as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate administrative activities, prepare correspondence, evaluate mail, assist with new projects and program initiatives, and ensure communication with faculty and students.
  • Coordinate activities with the Undergraduate Nursing Academic Department Coordinator II position in serving as liaison between KCON Dean's Office, Office of Student Services, Associate Deans, KCON Faculty, and undergraduate Nursing students.
  • Maintain accurate paper and electronic filing systems and confidential records related to the Undergraduate Nursing Program activities, course offerings, student grades, licensure applications, and education certification documents.
  • Provide administrative and academic support to KCON faculty as assigned.
  • Assist with exam preparation for KCON academic programs, serving as proctor on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist with coordination, preparation, and submission of undergraduate course offerings for KCON.
  • Coordinate contractual assignments for new and returning Adjunct Faculty, including preparation of contract letters, facilitation of onboarding, and completion of new hire documentation.
  • Provide guidance to undergraduate Nursing students during the RN licensure application process.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of KCON Baccalaureate program handbook.
  • Coordinate, compile, and analyze data for surveys and confidential reports using the appropriate systems and processes.
  • Provide support to Undergraduate Academic Affairs Committee, Undergraduate Clinical Coordinators meetings, and Faculty Forums, including preparation and distribution of meeting minutes, agendas, logistics, and correspondence.
  • Provide data entry support for student evaluation process (i.e., LIFT) for KCON undergraduate programs.
  • Train, supervise, and/or evaluate performance for student workers assigned to area of responsibility, as appropriate.
  • Ensure support coverage for all Academic Affairs activities.
  • Share responsibility with other PSS to cover the KCON main office, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Make travel arrangements for staff.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience. 
  • Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully operate office equipment. 
  • Data entry experience.
  • Typing and spelling competency with grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
  • Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college course work.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Supervision Received

Receives general instruction from a designated supervisor but is generally expected to work independently.

Supervision Exercised

Hire, train, schedule and coordinate the work of student employees and may act as lead worker to PSS staff members within the department/unit/division.
