Kyle Summerfield, Social Studies '14
After graduating from GVSU I headed to Texas to begin my teaching career. GVSU helped me so much to prepare for life as an educator. I used my social studies degree to teach world geography, U.S. history, and economics. I taught high school at Seven Lakes High School in Houston and met my wife. I then moved to Lanier High School in Austin. (Navarro High School now). Currently, I live in Michigan and no longer serve communities as a teacher, but the skills I learned at GVSU’s History and Education departments have carried over. I now run my own business and am still actively involved in educating young people through coaching. I also am a high school westling, youth wrestling, and football coach.
