How can I give to GVSU?
Giving to GVSU has never been easier! You can make a gift online, or call University Development at (616) 331-6000 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. You can also send a gift by mail by printing one of our Gift Reply Forms.

Can I decide how my gift will be used?
Yes! You can direct your gift to a specific fund. Give to a fund that supports your specific interests, whether that be in the area of health sciences, scholarships, engineering, arts, or athletics. Look here to find a fund that interests you.

What fund should I give to?
While a gift to any fund helps GVSU students, some areas need more support. Consider making a gift to one of our current priorities or areas of highest needs.

Do small gifts make a difference?
Yes, all gifts to GVSU make an impact! Larger gifts are usually used to create a new fund while smaller gifts help those funds grow. In fact, small gifts add up quickly and together, they make a big difference.

Can my employer match my gift?
Many employers match gifts to Grand Valley. Search our database to find out if your employer can increase the impact of your gift.

What is a planned gift?
Planned giving includes gifts you leave in your will or estate, typically invested in long-term endowments that pay off for generations. There are many ways to give a planned gift, from a simple bequest in your will to more specific financial arrangements. What is an endowed fund?
An endowment is a permanent fund that supports an area of the university specified by a donor or group of donors. The principal of the gift is invested and grows over time. A portion of the income is made available to support students each year, ensuring that your impact will last for generations. Learn more about endowments or find an endowed fund to make your gift.

Is my gift tax-deductible?
All gifts to Grand Valley may qualify you for tax benefits. As with all gifts to non-profit organizations, it is best to check with your personal financial advisor to evaluate the tax benefits of your specific plan.

Why am I getting calls from Grand Valley?
It was most likely a TOP student caller. Our Telephone Outreach Program (TOP) is composed of students who work to keep the Grand Valley community connected. Students call alumni, parents, and friends of Grand Valley to keep them up-to-date on exciting things happening at GVSU and to share ways to support students. Please take our call!
