RESEARCH INTERESTS
My primary research areas are high temperature isotope geochemistry, thermodynamic modeling, geo-and thermochronology with occasional tectonic mapping. I have primarily worked in ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic terranes in the mountains of Tibet, the Himalaya and in Scandinavia. The process by which continents are formed is one of the most basic questions in geology, I use ultrahigh-pressure rocks to investigate subduction fluids that drive volcanic arcs and crustal formation.
RECENT PROJECTS
CASAMOON
CASA Moon is a NASA SSERVI (Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute) node established in 2023. CASA Moon is a diverse, multi-generational, international team that integrates sample measurements, experimental studies, remotely collected data, and modeling to improve the level of our understanding of the geologic evolution of the Moon and to explore its resources.
- CASA Moon (Grant 2024-2029): Lunar petrology and volcanology with a large, international team of scientists funded through NASA SSERVI. My subteam is working on identifying lunar volatile reservoirs.
