Incoming Students
Students declaring EXS major will matriculate through the Exercise Science (EXS) Curriculum. EXS Majors will take each of the CORE classes and then choose ONE of the THREE emphasis areas.

Exercise Physiology & Sports Performance
This emphasis option is available to EXS majors who started the program Fall 2023 (catalog year 23-24) or later.
Exercise Science in Healthcare
This emphasis option is available to EXS majors who started the program Fall 2023 (catalog year 23-24) or later:
Physical Activity & Health
This emphasis option is available to EXS majors who started the program Fall 2023 (catalog year 23-24) or later:
Students with Catalog Year prior to 23-24
If you started the Exercise Science program PRIOR to the Fall of 2023, you will continue to matriculate through the existing Exercise Science Curriculum as found in your MyPath. The NEW Curriculum changes will not impact the courses you will complete to meet degree requirements within the major.
Clinical Exercise Science
For EXS majors who started the program PRIOR TO Fall 2023 (catalog year 22-23 or earlier):
CES to MAT
For EXS majors who started the program PRIOR TO Fall 2023 (catalog year 22-23 or earlier):
Combined degree: Undergraduate Clinical Exercise Science degree and Master's in Athletic Training
Health Fitness Instruction
For EXS majors who started the program PRIOR TO Fall 2023 (catalog year 22-23 or earlier):
HFI to M.P.H.
For EXS majors who started the program PRIOR TO Fall 2023 (catalog year 22-23 or earlier):
Combined degree: Undergraduate Health Fitness Instruction degree and Master of Public Health
