Lola Piper ('27), a cell & molecular biology major, is awarded a Van Andel Student Research Fellowship

Lola Piper '27, a cell & molecular biology major, has been awarded a Van Andel Student Summer Research Fellowship for Summer 2025, Winter 2026 and Summer 2026. Lola notes, ""Being at the forefront of the development of new methods for the study of epigenetics and its applications in leukemia research has been such an eye-opening and transformative experience. Through my experiences at the Van Andel Institute, I have been immersed in the world of high-impact biomedical research and have built the foundations for my future career in uncovering the mechanisms behind stem cell and cancer development. I'm so excited to continue my work with the Summer Research Fellowship again this summer and look forward to what the future holds!" Lola will continue her research at VAI in winter 2026 and summer 2026.
