Biography
Dr. Jared Moore serves as the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies & Outreach for the College of Computing at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) and is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science. With a passion for both education and innovation, Dr. Moore focuses his research on genetic algorithms, multiobjective optimization, evolutionary robotics, and computational art. He is deeply invested in student success, mentoring new students through the First-Year Advising and Registration program and supporting institutional growth as part of the Institutional Capacity Analysis Team.
Dr. Moore regularly teaches courses in artificial intelligence, computer architecture, and introductory programming, bringing hands-on, real-world applications into the classroom. Outside of academia, he is an avid outdoorsman and craftsman who enjoys running, hockey, fly fishing, woodworking, leathercrafting, and knifemaking. His unique blend of technical expertise and creative pursuits shapes his approach to teaching and outreach, inspiring students to think both analytically and artistically.
