Jim and Shirley Menacher established the Eric John Gillette Memorial Scholarship to honor their son by helping those who, like their son, wish to transition into the Computing field from another profession. Please write an essay discussing the following:

• your reasons for changing your career path, 
• how computing better aligns with your personal and professional goals (ex. What specific areas of computing interest you, and how do you plan to use your degree in your future career?), and
• the potential challenges you anticipate during the transition along with how you plan to overcome them.
