Biography
Dr. Jie Du is the founding chair of the Department of Information Sciences and Technologies within the College of Computing at Grand Valley State University (GVSU). Her research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence, information security, and decision-making support systems. Dr. Du is a member of the Association of Information Systems and is actively involved in the academic community through conference participation and manuscript review for leading computing journals.
Throughout her career, she has received notable recognition, including the Faculty Excellence Award and the Professor of Well-Being Award. Dr. Du has mentored student research on a variety of topics, such as electronic health record adoption, intelligent roadside unit deployment in vehicular networks, and AI-driven stockbroker systems. She regularly teaches core courses in the information systems major and is committed to fostering student success.
Outside the classroom, Dr. Du enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling.
