CIS 160 introduces you to computer programming concepts while also developing computational thinking.  We program solutions to challenges in the arts, humanities, and the sciences throughout the course.  Programming is a craft, learning to think like a programmer isn’t something you pick up overnight. As in skills like drawing, writing, painting, woodworking, knitting or playing an instrument, dedicating time consistently to practice is an effective way to build aptitude.

1. Create Graphics with Programming
2. Music Generation using Algorithms
3. Image Manipulation
4. Literature Profiling

1. Read and understand source code.
2. Understand the general process of program development/implementation. 
3. Solve problems using conditional logic statements.
4. Use basic data structures to efficiently work with data.
5. Solve problems using multiple methods.
6. Demonstrate an awareness of computing on society.
