Biography
Dr. Sorio Boit’s research interests include natural language processing, deep learning, social media mining, and computer vision. His work focuses on developing intelligent systems to analyze and extract meaningful insights from complex data, with applications across diverse domains such as social media and visual computing.
Dr. Boit is an active member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), serves on the organizing committee for the Midwest Association for Information Systems (MWAIS), and is a regular reviewer for conferences including HICSS, MWAIS, and AMCIS. He is also a member of the IBM Academic Alliance.
Dr. Boit teaches courses in Python programming, data analysis tools and techniques, databases, data mining, big data and visualization, and machine learning. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys photography (landscape, street, wildlife, and travel), biking, exploring museums and cultures through travel, running, and DIY projects.
