Summary

Foundational learning to help you serve effectively on a board

Board service can be an immensely satisfying undertaking. While passion and commitment often lead people to serve on nonprofit boards, having the technical skills to be effective is critical to helping an organization succeed.

This three-hour, interactive program is designed for people interested in board service or those looking to strengthen and refresh their knowledge and skills, as well as to help executive directors more effectively work with their boards.

Following this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the core functions, legal and other responsibilities of a nonprofit board of directors.
  • Understand board governance and how boards are structured.
  • Identify common challenges and related strategies facing nonprofit boards.
