GVSU Men's Hockey Prospect Skates

The GVSU Men's Hockey Prospect Skates will be taking place on Saturdays, June 19th, July 17th, and August 7th starting at 12 p.m. at Griff's Georgetown Ice Arena with two skating sessions. Don't miss this opportunity to join us as we prepare for another wonderful season at GVSU! The skates are open to all players and provide a chance to meet the coaching staff and returning players. It provides a perfect opportunity to assess the level of play and the skills needed to take the next step to play hockey for our ACHA D1 and D3 programs.

Individuals registering must be a current GVSU student enrolled in Spring/Summer 2021 or Fall 2021 classes. 

Quick information: There is a $40 player fee for anyone participating. The skates are broken down into scrimmage teams from registered participants. Each team will play two-game times per day. Please arrive at least 1 hour before the start to sign waivers. Anyone that is less than 18 years of age will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver for you to be able to skate. Please plan accordingly.

Here's how it works: Players will be divided into teams, with each team playing two games each day, one game during the afternoon session and a second in the evening session. The game will be played at these four times on both days:

  1. 12 p.m. - 12:50 p.m.
  2. 1 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.
  3. 6 p.m. - 6:50 p.m.
  4. 7 p.m. - 7:50 p.m.

Check-in: Times vary based on the e-mail provided a week before skate, please have GVSU daily self-assessment completed and ready to show at check-in.

Cost: $40 non-refundable fee each date, pay for 2 of the skates and get the third free (request the coupon from Coach Trosien at [email protected] before registering)
