CECI faculty and staff continue tradition of giving back to the community

It was a great morning in late September as more than 30 CECI faculty
and staff took part in the annual CECI Gives Back Day. Every year, a
group volunteers with a local non-profit and this year
CECI volunteered at New City Farm, which is part of New City Neighbors
and provides employment opportunities for high-school-age youth
through urban farming. They also supply healthy food to local
neighbors, and foster an inclusive community where people can gather,
build relationships, and share a meal together.
The CECI team helped with a variety of tasks including weeding,
spreading mulch, and cleaning garlic and onions for fall planting.
CECI's volunteers then enjoyed lunch, which included ingredients grown
at the farm. CECI participants said they had a great time and were
thrilled to be able to support New City's life-changing work.
