Michigan Legislature approves 23-24 budget that fully funds the foundation allowance for special education students for the first time

The Michigan Legislature approved the 2023-2024 budget, which includes increased equity in special education funding:
- An increase of $310.3 million for special education
- Total estimated special education expenditures for 2023-24 are $2.2 billion
- The 2023-2024 budget fully funds the foundation allowance for special education students for the first time
