What is the Essential Foundations Bootcamp?

The Essential Foundations Bootcamp will include an integration of the universal supports, behavioral practices, and instructional strategies from Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Educational Supports and Strategies, and other START training modules and resources. Content will be organized for flexible and customizable training and coaching needs. 

The Bootcamp will consist of four days of content and coaching and two days of Trainer Days, which are collaborative days intended to strengthen training and presentation skills, for a total of six days. 

Coach Leaders are strongly encouraged to participate in the four days of content and coaching in the Essential Foundations Bootcamp.


When is the EPLI Essential Foundations Bootcamp?

Please note: Coach Leaders are invited to attend Modules 1, 2, 4, and 5. Modules 3 and 6 are not intended for Coach Leaders

What are the requirements for Coach Leaders to attend the Essential Foundations Bootcamp?

  • Hold a Michigan Department of Education or BCBA credential AND employed by a public school in Michigan
  • Have at least 3 years of experience working with students with ASD 
  • Possess strong content knowledge in ASD and evidence-based practices to support students with ASD
  • Share key concepts and resources from Essential Foundations Bootcamp with Building Coaches in your ISD, district, or RCN
  • Establish rapport and connections with Building Coaches
  • Have or are in the process of building a coaching structure in which regular contact with and support of Building Coaches occurs
  • Understand the importance of post-training follow-up and coaching on the implementation of evidence-based practices
  • Commit to championing inclusive practices and equitable access for all students

How do Coaches attend the Essential Foundations Bootcamp?

Coach Leaders are required to submit a brief application to attend. The application is due September 29, 2023.
