Since commissioning as a Naval officer, I've dedicated my career to preparing and developing Sailors to accomplish the missions of the Navy and contribute to the broader joint warfighting effort. Over the past 16 years, I've been assigned in a variety of places and roles from operational commands overseas to enterprise-scale IT program management in Washington, D.C. Along the way I've had the privilege of leading outstanding Sailors, learning from mentors, and seeing first-hand how investing in training and leadership contributes to mission success. I've been especially fortunate to return home to Michigan for my current tour of duty, serving as the Commanding Officer of Navy Reserve Center Battle Creek. In this role, I am responsible for the readiness and professional growth of over 250 Navy Reserve Sailors, balancing the day-to-day administrative needs of the command with the long-term task of preparing citizen-Sailors to seamlessly integrate into the Navy Fleet and Joint Force. Nearly two decades in uniform have shown me that service is as much about people as it is about missions, and I take great pride in leading a team that embodies that principle every day. Being able to do so while back in Michigan, so close to family, friends, and the community that shaped me makes this tour especially meaningful.
