After twelve years of working in West Michigan as an engineer, I decided to pursue a life change that culminated in completing my doctorate in Computer Science this summer. The tail-end of that five year journey was especially tumultuous due to leadership changes at my school, my advisors departure, questions regarding funding, and more. But, miraculously, I finished. I am now living with my new wife in Houston and working remotely for a startup in Brooklyn, New York, continuing projects that began alongside my final two years at New York University. While graduate school itself was grueling, my years in New York City will be some of the most cherished of my life.
