I founded RLS in 2012 to serve over 150 lakes in their lake management, restoration, and research efforts. Today, my company serves lakes in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Vermont, and Colorado. RLS employs 3 full-time and several part-time scientists. The main goals of my company are to improve and restore lakes to a more pristine condition. RLS utilizes numerous best management practices to improve inland lakes and water resources. In addition, RLS is highly involved with assisting riparian communities with the educational process so that individual lakefront owners can sustainably protect their lakes. RLS scientists are actively involved in serving non-profits such as Michigan Lake and Stream Associations, Michigan Nature Association, North American Lake Management Society, and the US Coast Guard Auxillary. RLS also sponsors annual 5-K race events for a few inland lake groups. RLS provides services that include lake management plans, feasibility studies, fishery evaluations and studies, Zooplankton and macroinvertebrate surveys, algal reduction and nutrient reduction plans, watershed management plans, community engagement programs, data analysis, technical reports, educational workshops, and numerous additional lake and watershed services. RLS is a proud member of the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and the Grand Haven Chamber of Commerce.
