  • Degree offered: Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
  • This major requires specific prerequisite courses (not currently offered at this college) to meet third year admission requirements, therefore students are encouraged to meet with a GVSU College of Health Professions academic advisor prior to the start of this coursework.
  • This guide fulfills the Michigan Transfer agreement (MTA). Humanities and Social Science electives must be selected from different disciplines. Please check with your community college advisor for additional associate degree requirements.

The Health Information Management (HIM) major is a secondary admit program, which only admits students one time per year. This means that although you may have been admitted to GVSU, you must meet additional program admission criteria and submit a secondary application to the program prior to the application deadline. For more detailed admission/application information visit the Allied Health Sciences website at www.gvsu.edu/ahs.

This is a suggested curriculum guide and may not be applicable to every student. Students are encouraged to meet with a GVSU College of Health Professions (CHP) Advisor early in their academic career. To learn more about this major or to schedule an advising appointment visit the CHP Student Services office online at www.gvsu.edu/chpss
