The computer engineering field integrates electrical engineering with computer science to uniquely analyze and solve problems. Computer engineers design computing systems and develop embedded software for applications ranging from avionics and electric automobiles to consumer electronics. Grand Valley prepares students for leadership roles and careers in the field, combining academic studies with experiential learning and paid professional experiences in actual engineering companies.
The program encompasses various courses, including computer programming, data communications, circuit analysis, and more. Specialties are offered in embedded system design, digital system design, computer architecture, software engineering, and operating systems.
Grand Valley offers personal attention in small classes and hands-on, project-based learning in state-of-the-art facilities. You will collaborate with industry partners who sponsor capstone projects, fund scholarships, and provide career opportunities. Additionally, you will gain three semesters of paid cooperative-education work experience with domestically and internationally recognized engineering companies. Join a group of successful graduates with nearly 100% placement in industry careers or graduate school.
The B.S.E. computer engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET
