What is the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering?

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Logo

The department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) offers two distinct but interconnected programs: Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. Our mission is to provide students with a strong foundation in engineering principles, foster critical thinking, and develop the technical skills required to design and innovate within the realm of electrical and electronic systems. Both programs cover a broad range of areas, including analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, semiconductor devices and microelectronics, control systems, power and alternative energy technologies, communications and signal processing, electromagnetics, and machine learning. Graduates from our programs are equipped to design, analyze, and solve complex engineering challenges across various applications. These include robotics and automation, autonomous vehicles, green and sustainable energy, avionics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and both commercial and industrial electronics.
