New IT Security Measure in Place to fight Cybercrime

In the ongoing efforts to protect GVSU against Cybercrime, IT has implemented a security feature that allows for the logging of security and system events.  The logging will occur on all GVSU owned faculty/staff computers beginning with Windows 10 machines followed by additional Windows OS and Mac OS machines in the near future.  You may notice a process running on your machine listed under the product name of “Splunk”.  The Splunk tool logs specific events to assist in identifying and/or tracking cybercrime attempts.  The logging does not track website access or non-GVSU business activity.
