Current GVSU Students, Faculty, and Staff

Grand Valley State University now has a site license for SPSS 20, 22, 24, 25, and 26. You may download and install these versions of SPSS onto your personal Windows or Macintosh computer. Before downloading check with your professor to make sure you select the correct version. After you have downloaded the software you will need to authorize/license the software. To authorize the software, go to www.gvsu.edu/itselfservice, click “Request License Code for SPSS,” log in with your GVSU username and password, and follow the prompts. The code and instructions to authorize your SPSS software will be sent to your GVSU email account. The authorization code will only work on one machine. If you need authorization to run SPSS on multiple machines, please call the IT Help Desk at 616-331-2101.

You can access the software using the following procedure: 1 - Login to a GVSU Windows lab computer. 2 - Insert your flash drive. 3 - Click on the Computer shortcut on the desktop. 4 - Double click on GVSU-LABDATA. 5 - Open the STUDENT SOFTWARE folder. 6 - Open the corresponding SPSS folder (20, 22, 24, 25, or 26). 7 - Inside the folder, you will see separate folders for Macintosh and Windows (32-bit or 64-bit) operating systems. Select the appropriate folder for the machine you will be installing SPSS on. 8 - Right click on the file within that folder and select Send To from the drop-down list. 9 - Send the file to your flash drive. The file will likely take several minutes to copy to your flash drive.
