Jewelry and Metalsmithing students' works on display at ArtPrize7

The Jewelry/Metalsmithing students at Grand Valley State University are participating in ArtPrize7 with a display of undergraduate student work titled Framing the Experience. We are taking this opportunity to engage with the public in a conversation about jewelry and its place in contemporary society. The work represents an attempt to share personal experiences and observations that have impacted the lives of the makers. You will find the choice of the materials, form, scale and process of the jewelry exhibited differ from the expected. The focus is on producing jewelry capable of speaking for both the maker and the wearer. We hope you will find new ways of thinking about contemporary jewelry as well as unexpected pleasures. We hope the work creates new ways of thinking and unexpected pleasures.

ArtPrize 7 runs from September 23- October 11. You will find the work in a POD located on the downtown Grand Valley campus, outside the Eberhard Center at the west end of the Blue Bridge. And do not forget to vote #61964.
