479ft Echo: Inside and Outside of the White Cube

September 04, 2014

479 ft Echo is a project in the Stuart B. and Barbara H. Padnos Student Art and Design Gallery

Department of Art and Design, GVSU

Join us for viewing and snacks at both locations from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

This is the fourth year of the White Cube Project in which Space Studio begins the semester by asking some basic questions about the cultural form of a gallery, a white cube. This year Space Studio* is joined by Image Studio* for the White Cube project.

The project uses measurements of the Padnos Gallery to create an echo (second) gallery along the rim of a ravine -  479 feet West of the Padnos Gallery ( near the east entrance to Lake Ontario Hall).

Please join us to experience this project and consider the isolated form of the "Gallery" and this pairing of spaces inside and outside of the White Cube.

Space Studio and Image Studio are courses in the Visual Studies emphasis area in the Department of Art and Design at GVSU.
