What to Know

Date & Time of Poster Presentations: 4pm-5:15pm | Thursday, November 13th, 2025

  • Posters will be displayed all day 
  • Presenters are asked to attend (stand next to) their posters during the set hour of 4:00pm-5:15pm

 

Poster Session Expectations & Info

  • At least one co-presenter should stand next to their poster during the Thursday 4:00pm-5:15pm time (more presenters are welcome!)
  • Poster presenters will answer questions on the poster topic
  • Posters will be printed, set up, and displayed (by Teach-In volunteers) on Thursday, November 13th in a common space for viewing throughout the day
  • Presenters can take home posters at the end of the day on November 13th

Submission Guidelines

Submitting a Poster:

  • Poster Teams must have at least two members (more is very welcome and common), at least one of whom must be a faculty or staff member.
  • We also encourage local community members as co-presenters.
  • Abstract approval will be contingent on fitting with the mission of the Teach-In, as well as clarity of writing and use of inclusive language.

Finding Co-Presenters

Our hope is that students, faculty, and staff can find ways to connect around topics of interest. That said, we know there are occasions when a person wants to present, but cannot find a partner. Should this be you, please email us at [email protected] and we will do our best to assist.

CRITERIA

CONSIDERATIONS

Size

Posters must be 4 feet wide by 3 feet in height (48” x 36”). You may use this template to build your poster.

Relevance

Is this topic in alignment with the purpose of the Teach-In? (to address topics related to inequality and systems of oppression, as well as social justice and liberation.)

Application

Can the ideas presented in the poster be used to positively influence the campus climate at Grand Valley State University?

Clarity

Is the purpose of the poster well articulated? 

Engagement

Does the poster articulate an opportunity for participants to engage with the ideas presented? Can the audience interact or consider the topic actively?

Presenters

Is a student the main presenter?

Is a staff or faculty member their co-presenter?
