Who Are The GVSU Beekeepers Club?
Founded in 2011, the GVSU Beekeepers Club works with the Sustainable Agriculture Project to maintain their apiary and spread awareness about the importance of pollinators! They collect and bottle honey and make beeswax chapstick that we sell to students! They host many events throughout the year, such as honey bottling, chapstick making, educational events, and crafts to be sustainable and wind down from studying! What is the Beekeepers Class?
ENS 311 - To Bee or Not to Bee; Honeybees and Social Impact
This course explores the centuries-old relationship between humans, nature, and honeybees from a cultural, historical, and agricultural context. Pillars of our modern food system and bioindicator of our environment, honeybees provide important scientific, economic, philosophical, and political perspectives relevant to our current global climate. Offered fall semester.
