Student Life Fund
What is the SLF?
The Student Life Fund (SLF) is a budget allocated annually by the GVSU Board of Trustees and is available to all registered student organizations to enhance campus life and student development. The Student Life Fund's total budget is passed by a majority vote of the GVSU Student Senate at the end of the winter semester every academic year. The budget is a reflection of the yearly allocations and needs of the student body at that time.
Part of the SLF, is allocated to departments and groups across campus, including Club Sports, Student Media (Lanthorn, GVTV, WCKS), and Campus Activities Board.
The rest of the SLF is accessible to registered student organizations via funding requests. This process is student-led by the Student Senate Allocations Committee, with administrative oversight from the Office of Student Life.
The Allocations Committee holds meetings almost every Friday to hear requests and either approve, approve with adjustments, or deny based on the funding guidelines.
Reach out to our Allocations Chair, Lukas Hartley, for more information or to get involved and attend a meeting.
