About Us
Student Senate works as a liaison between students and university stakeholders. We listen to student concerns, work to solve students' issues, and promote students in decision-making spaces. Functioning in a shared governance model with faculty governance and administration, we have the capacity to pass legislation and meet with university stakeholders to share student voices.
To work efficiently and effectively, we have five different committees that focus their work in specific areas:
- Allocations Committee
- Public Relations Committee
- Advocacy Committee
- Policy Committee
- Events Committee
General Assembly Meetings
General Assembly (GA) is a public meeting where we discuss campus issues, hear from campus partners, share updates from Cabinet and Committees, and consider legislation that guides our advocacy on behalf of students.
All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend in person join via Zoom, and are encouraged to share thoughts during public comment at the beginning and end of every meeting.
GA typically takes place Thursdays at 5:15 p.m. View our schedule and events on LakerLink to learn more and access the Zoom link.
