2026 Office Decorating Contest

Welcome to the 2026 Office Decorating Contest submission page! Congratulations to the Parking Services Office for winning this year. In second place we had the CECI Dean's Office and in third place was the CECI Advising Center in DeVos. Thank you to everyone who submitted images and votes for this competition. The theme for 2026 was "Movie Night" and we look forward to hosting this event again next year.

Anthropology Lab

Brooks College Dean's Office

CECI Advising Center - DeVos

Hollywood stars along the back wall with student names, the desk is covered in red paper, lots of movie posters

CECI Teaching and Learning

Front desk is decorated with yellow banner and move decorations. There are red and gold and black balloons with pom poms hanging from the ceiling. There are mini movie posters covering the wall

CLAS Academic Advising Center - Allendale

Movie posters of the Lion King, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Iron Man and the Titanic with photos of the student employees faces on the posters. There is also a popcorn table with Oscar trophies with the student pictures on them

CLAS Center for Experiential Learning

"Now starring" poster with student's names. GVSU slogan "Turning What if Into What Is" as a movie poster

CLAS Dean's Office

Communication Sciences & Disorders and Occupational Science & Therapy

Movie posters hanging in the window, balloons and popcorn bucket decorations, red curtains hanging on the desk, VIP stage door entrance on door, film crew cutouts on wall

Frey Library

Lots of Hollywood star decorations with student's names on them. White and yellow stars hanging from the ceiling and a large "Happy Student Employee Appreciation Week" banner on the front desk. There is also a skeleton holding pop and a popcorn bucket

GVSU Laker Store - Allendale

"Laker Store Studios Presents" sign above desk with 4 large movie posters underneath. Lots of popcorn and start and movie themed decorations with the names of all their student employees on popcorn buckets

Holton-Hooker Front Desk

"Happy Student Employee Appreciation Week" on front desk. Move themed decorations surrounding desk including netflix screen, film reels, black balloons, popcorn buckets and a "meet the cast" wall with pictures of all their student employees

Human Resources

Red carpet through office, student's featured with their favorite movies along the wall. VIP lounge with Louie the Laker and gold star decorations. Hollywood walk of fame stars on the floor, movie snack time room. Gold start and red ribbon decorations throughout

IT Blackboard Graduate Assistants

Kirkhof College of Nursing

there is a concession stand with pop, candy, and popcorn buckets. there is a hollywood walk of fame with stars and metallic balloons. There are movie posters and a ticket station

Movement Science

Front desk is turned into a concessions stand with popcorn buckets, candy and red ribbons. There is also a film reel decoration in the front office

Office of Student Life

Parking Services

Parking themed movie banner with a hand drawn car and car themed movies listed. There is also red welcome curtains with gold tassles hanging from a doorway. There is a red carpet with gold stars and black and red and gold balloons lining the walkway. There is also a table with oscar trophies and another with a small popcorn machine and buckets

PCE Academic Advising Office

Blockbuster store theme with a large sign, move sections over each office door, popcorn bucket designs on front desk and large tv decoration behind front desk

Philosophy Department

Balloons spelling "movie night" along with popcorn buckets, cartoon pop and hot dogs and popcorn buckets, movie posters, home theater posters, popcorn balloon and pictures of student employees

School of Interdisciplinary Health

Desk turns into concession stand with red ribbons and balloons. Movie night wall with red curtains. Admit one ticket decorations, popcorn bucket with white and yellow balloons as popcorn, film projector decoration and large sign that says "Happy Student Employee Appreciation Week"

South Campus Residential Desk

Front desk is covered in red and white stripe decorations and sign saying "Now Showing: Student Employee Appreciation Week!" There is a ticket area and snack area with popcorn decorations. There is a wall that says "Starring:" with photos of all their student employees

Steelcase Library

Large popcorn buckets with yellow and white balloons coming out and creating an archway over a tv. Student employee names are written in film reels on the window with red stars
