Dr. Michael Dykstra (2015)

GVSU Alumnus and Physics Major (2015) Michael Dykstra, of Hopkins, MI is completed his MD-PhD at Harvard Medical School. He was awarded a prestigious Kennedy Knox and Sheldon Harvard Graduate School Fellowship, a Fulbright Fellowship, and a Doris Duke International Clinical Research Fellowship to conduct mentored clinical research in Botswana. 

At GVSU, Dykstra was the recipient of a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship where he studied urban and rural healthcare disparities in medicine in Peru.  Additionally, Dykstra has received a travel award to attend the World Molecular Imaging Congress, the Robert Byrd Scholarship, MAS4 Scholarship, the Ruth Chamberlain Global Issues Scholarship and was inducted as a member into the Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Pi Sigma Honors Societies. Dykstra was a Physics major, Mathematics minor, and a member of the Frederik Meijer Honors College.

Currently Michael works for University of Michigan as resident physician in radiation oncology department.
