Virtual Climate Change Student Symposium

Wednesday, April 8th 
The 5th Annual Virtual Climate Change Student Symposium (VCCSS) is an extended virtual session showcases student research and creative activities focusing on climate change, its causes, impacts, science/policy interface, and mitigation and adaptation solutions. VCCSS is a multi-disciplinary synchronous online event hosted on GVSU Zoom Webinar platform and is a joint ongoing initiative of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship and GVSU Climate Change Education Solutions Network.

10:30 AM "Understanding Climate Emotions and Critical Hope" by Hannah Weller, Environmental and Sustainability Studies.

11:00 – 11:30AM "Impacts of Climate Change on Cocoa Production in West Africa" by Emily Felde, Hannah Weller, Kamiah Boone, and Maya Bajis.

11:30 AM – 12 PM "Impacts of Climate Change on Wildfires in Western United States" by Connor Rugg, Augustus Ripple, and Evan Olson.

12 – 12:30 PM "Impacts of climate change on the Northwest Passage in the Arctic" by Antonia Sigmon, Sara Conner, and Ava Wright.
