Student Success

Challenge Scholar

“The staff is so welcoming and ready to help with anything, finding resources for academic struggles, emotional support, and more. I have gained lots of knowledge of resources I was unaware were available to me. The Office of Student Support and Belonging has created a safe space for me during my academic struggles and life in general.”

"This program will push you to grow as a professional. I had to become comfortable being uncomfortable, and that was where I found growth. [Incoming students] should feel confident and know that there's already a family here to support them."

Fostering Laker Success Student

“I am truly grateful for the opportunities FLS has given me. Talking about life skills and getting hands-on experience on how it will look in the real world has prepared me on how to carry myself in trials and tribulations. Being able to talk about how I want my future to be and the tasks that I have to complete to get there has been very helpful too. I appreciate this program so much, and I am happy that I am able to be a part of it.”

Oliver Wilson Scholars Student

"During my time in the Oliver Wilson Scholars Program, I have seen myself strive in my academic success as they help me maintain my goal and help me navigate through homework, assignments, and challenges I face throughout the year. [My success coach] never fails to reach out and stay in touch to ensure I am successful. This program and my success coach has been the best thing for my academic career."
