He has been on the advisory board for Grand Valley State’s Occupational Health and Safety program for the last 6 years.

Ben has over 20 years of experience in the field of Occupational Health and Safety. He has worked in various industries such as chemical (DOW), oil &gas (BP), steel manufacturing (ArcelorMittal), aerospace and industrial manufacturing (Rexnord), warehousing and logistics (syncreon/DP World) and Healthcare (HFH).

Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Grand Valley State University and is a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP).

When asked what about the OSH Program at Grand Valley as his favorite part, Ben replied, "I think what prepared me most for my career was the small class sizes that maximized 1-1 time with the professors. That 1-1 time allowed me to understand the application of what I was learning in the classroom into the real world.  The OSH program helped me land two excellent internships that helped me standout once I graduated.  The program was a great network of safety professionals that I continue to have to this day."

We love hearing from our alumni, if you are interested in being highlighted, please send a photo of yourself, a short bio, and a statement outlining how you think your GVSU OSH Degree assisted you in your career, to [email protected].
