I did my internship in a manufacturing setting where I helped with building a lockout/ Tagout program, updating the emergency action plans and also writing a successful grant application to get funding for machines to reduce ergonomic concerns from lifting. I really valued the opportunity to work closely with many different departments as well as the opportunity to work with a diverse works force with more than 15 different languages as I was able to gain insights from various perspectives.
As I near graduation, I am hoping or a job in Lansing or surrounding areas! I also hope to gain my Certified Safety Professional after a few more years of experience.
