The Grand Valley State University Muskegon Center serves as an access point for individuals looking to begin, continue, or advance their education with GVSU. Located within Muskegon Community College, the center connects students and community members to university opportunities while supporting pathways to higher education.

Community Partnerships
The GVSU Muskegon Center collaborates and partners with local Muskegon organizations and GVSU departments to create a network of supportive opportunities and connected pathways for prospective current GVSU students.
Partnership with Muskegon Community College
Grand Valley State University has long-standing history on the Muskegon Community College (MCC) campus. Grand Valley was one of the first universities to partner with MCC and was on-site during the creation of the Muskegon Community College Stevenson Center for Higher Education in 1995.
In October 2024, GVSU and MCC renewed their partnership, and in March 2025, GVSU re-established itself on MCC's main campus within the Stevenson Center through the creation of the GVSU Muskegon Center. This partnership and the Muskegon Center is focused on supporting local students through strategic use of resources and co-creation. Some of these resources include strengthening academic pathways, articulation agreements, additional academic and transfer advising, with opportunities for collaboration through programming and faculty engagement.
GVSU at the Lakeshore
The Muskegon Center works alongside other GVSU Muskegon based locations - the Annis Water Research Institute and Muskegon Innovation Hub to create a network of opportunities.
Muskegon Innovation Hub
The Muskegon Innovation Hub was established by the City of Muskegon, Grand Valley State University, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The Hub serves as a business innovation nerve center that provides guidance, funding, networking, and a synergistic work environment to help businesses and entrepreneurs achieve their goals. The Hub is a key partner in the region's innovation ecosystem, supporting startup businesses, entrepreneurs, and corporate innovation teams.
Robert B. Annis Water Resources Institute (AWRI)
The Robert B. Annis Water Resources Institute (AWRI) is a multidisciplinary research organization within GVSU's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS).
AWRI's mission is to integrate research, education, and outreach to enhance and preserve freshwater resources.
AWRI consists of 3 programmatic areas and offers exciting research and education opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff.
