Explore Scholarships Exclusive to Students Studying Abroad in Germany!
Although there are a handful of scholarships available to students looking to study abroad, the Hermann Kurthen & Kay Losey Scholarship is the only scholarship offered at Grand Valley exclusive to students planning to study abroad in Germany. Dr. Hermann M. Kurthen and his spouse Dr. Kay M. Losey started this scholarship after 18 years of service as professors at GVSU in hopes that it will help students to experience the remarkable impact study abroad can have on cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

ABOUT US
The German Club of Modern Languages and Literatures is a student- and faculty-run organization dedicated to the promotion of the German language and culture in West Michigan. Students and Faculty from Grand Valley, as well as members of the community at large, are invited to participate in conversation hours, movie showings and other activities sponsored by the club. Occasionally, we plan trips to German-related events and destinations such as the Weihnachtsmarkt in Chicago and Frankenmuth.
