Job Summary

Provide administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Office, performing office functions, which substantially contribute to the objectives and mission of the department.

Essential Functions

  • Assist search committees and applicants, as needed, throughout the hiring process.
  • Post jobs using various sources and methods, including social media.
  • Monitor the applicant tracking system and assist search committees with the system.
  • Review pool(s) of qualified candidates during the interview approval process.
  • Run background checks, criminal, financial and driving.
  • Update position descriptions including primary duties, required education, knowledge and experience, and wage ranges.
  • Enter various employee data (open jobs, pay increase, title changes, etc.) into the HRIS system. 
  • Maintain filing and/or database and record keeping systems on paper and/or computer.
  • Prepare reports, which may require compiling and computing statistical data.
  • Complete employment verifications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years relevant work experience.
  • Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Typing and spelling competency.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
  • Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college course work.
  • Higher education experience.
  • Experience with running background checks.
  • Knowledge of employment related rules, regulations, and laws.
  • Banner (HRIS) experience.
  • PageUp Applicant Tracking System experience.

Supervision Received

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.

Supervision Exercised

May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.

Physical Demands
