Job Summary

Provides technical and operational support within IT Operations, including administration of IT Service Management (ITSM), assisting with the management of technology acquisition approvals, and supporting departmental billing, and inventory processes, while coordinating campus technology deliveries and supervising student employees.

Essential Functions

  • Administer the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) by creating and maintaining templates, tickets, and reports. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with workflows, data reports, and system integrations within the ITSM. Coordinate with IT Enterprise Architecture, Applications, Security, and IT Services to ensure stable and reliable operations. 
  • Support the maintenance of the Division’s IT hardware lifecycle management strategy, encompassing procurement, and working with IT Services on deploying and decommissioning assets.   
  • Approve and reconcile Technology Acquisition requests and departmental billing in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Review Internal Service Deliveries (ISD) for accuracy, make corrections, and resolve discrepancies. 
  • Assist with overseeing and managing physical technology inventory in Technology Acquisition, including tracking, reconciliation, and coordination with vendors for returns, replacements, and credits. 
  • Coordinate the receiving and delivery of technology across campus, including pallet management, scheduling, tracking, and coordinating the van run process with Mail Services. 
  • Supervise student employees by assigning work, creating training protocols, scheduling, and providing mentoring and job shadowing opportunities. 
  • Serve as primary contact for community ETA requests regarding technology orders. 
  • Serve as the primary back for the IT Operations Assistant.  
  • Conduct special projects and assignments as directed. 
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully operate office equipment.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Typing and spelling competency with grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance records.
  • Ability to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working with an IT Service Management solution.  
  • Experience with inventory and asset management.  
  • Experience with automating processes to improve processes and efficiencies.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Supervision Received

Receives general instruction from a designated supervisor but is generally expected to work independently.

Supervision Exercised

Hire, train, schedule and coordinate the work of student employees and may act as lead worker to PSS staff members within the department/unit/division.
