Welcome to Laker Village Apartments! We are thrilled to have you join our community! LVA is home to some first-year students, returning students, transfer students, graduate students, student athletes, and the International House living-learning community. We offer 2- and 4-bedroom townhouse-style apartments, as well as a select few efficiency units. Laker Village is located in the South Campus Neighborhood near The Blue Connection, Library, Niemeyer Honors College, and the Kirkhof Center. Meet the Staff

Resident Assistants (RAs) are sophomore-level or higher, undergraduate and graduate students who live on-campus. There is at least one RA on every floor of each living center. They contribute to a positive community living experience by serving as a campus resource for first-year students, and by coordinating social and academic activities for residents. RA staff members serve in the HRL duty rotation and are extensively trained in crisis management, facilities management, campus policies/student code of conduct, and student development.

Community Directors (CDs) are professional, live-in staff members. They assist in the daily operations of residential communities. These operations include administrative duties, managing conduct, supervising an RA staff, and providing support to residential students. CD staff members serve in the HRL duty rotation and have experience in crisis management, facilities management, campus policies/student code of conduct, and student development.

Ksenija Rubez

Ksenija is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. When she's not busy breaking systems, she enjoys reading, writing, and playing tennis. This will be her second year as an RA, and she is excited to meet new residents and help create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive community.

Jaden Green

Hi all, I'm Jaden, and I am a returning RA at Laker Village North. My major is Biomedical Sciences. I enjoy skating, reading, and hanging out with friends. I am excited to get to know all of you.

Logan LaBadie

Logan LaBadie is a junior at Grand Valley State University, double-majoring in Accounting and Finance in the Seidman College of Business. This will be his second year serving as a Resident Assistant, having previously served at Murray Living Center and now joining the team at Laker Village Apartments. Logan is looking forward to a great year building community, getting more involved on campus, and supporting residents throughout their time at GVSU. Outside of his RA role, Logan enjoys sports, working out, and spending time with friends & family.

Mohamed Aziz Boufaied

Mohamed Aziz Boufaied is a graduate student pursuing his Master's degree in Applied Computer Science at GVSU. This year, he is incredibly excited to serve as a Resident Assistant and looks forward to meeting new students, making lifelong friends, and creating a welcoming on-campus community. Outside of his studies and RA duties, Mohamed is passionate about technology and loves playing soccer. He is always down for a great conversation and is looking forward to an amazing year ahead with his residents.

Erica Gjolaj

Erica is a senior studying Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in Digital Studies. This is her third year as an RA in the Laker Village community. She enjoys baking, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Litzy Ostiguin

Litzy Ostiguin is a junior at GVSU majoring in Allied Health Science (Pre-PA). When she is not in class, she likes to explore local shops, read, and bake. This will be her second year as an RA, and her goal is to have a fun, inclusive, and supportive year.

Lyliana Sanson-Espinoza

Lyliana Sanson-Espinoza is a dedicated nursing major from the east side of the state of Michigan. As her first year serving as a Resident Assistant, in Laker Village Apartments, she hopes to create a welcoming and positive living environment for all. Outside of RA duties, Lyliana volunteers on campus and loves going on long walks.

Jordynn Carrington

Jordynn is a junior and an Allied Health major with a physician assistant focus, as well as a minor in health care ethics. She enjoys watching old school movies, baking, and reading medical journals. Her goal is to become a Physician Assistant in pediatric oncology.
